Overview
The Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center at University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for children with inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohns, ulcerative colitis, indeterminant colitis, eosinophilic esophagitis, autoimmune and eosinophilic enteropathy). Our providers from multiple specialties have a broad range of clinical expertise and experience. Together, they are able to tailor a treatment plan to each patient, coordinated by specialized nurses caring for those patients' unique needs.

  • Provide on-going up-to-date education and support for children and families
  • Parental Oversight and Support Committee provides help for families and continued feedback aimed to improve the Center's quality of care and treatment outcomes

Our physicians offer a comprehensive array of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and consultation including:

  • Upper endoscopy (esophagoduodenoscopy or EGD)
  • Colonoscopy
  • Upper gastrointestinal series
  • Small bowel follow through series
  • CT enterography
  • MR enterography
  • PE-CT scan
  • Percutaneous endoscopic and surgical gastrostomy
  • Infliximab (Remicade) infusions
  • Nasogastric enteral nutrition therapy
